Week two of being a nano rebel. The goal is to finish my first four chapters.
Today I picked up two poetry books and here’s what I thought of them
This November is just too busy for me. So I didn’t participate in the actual nano. However I wanted to use this writing month to motivate me into finishing the first four chapters of my second Draft.
October is over what the hell has happened to this year. Christmas is coming way too fast. 🤦♀️
A dark fantasy 😈, slow burn enemies to lovers with a list of trigger warnings. This book has some gory scenes.
This book tag was created by The Bookish Porcupine.
Nettle and Bone by T. kingfisher book review.
Today I spent the day outdoors with my fam. We went to a dam.
It’s been awhile since I have sat back and enjoyed a few horror movies back to back. I used to do it every Friday 13th with a theme. But covid happened. Life happened. However being it’s October and Halloween season I thought why not.
Below is a small wrap up of the books I read this month.
A 7 day spring readathon.
Today is the 13th of September which for people who don’t know is the official supernatural day.
This month has been a weird one. It started off great. I was on holiday writing away and feeling great about where everything was going. I read a couple books then I hit a major slump. I couldn’t bring myself to pick up any new books or write anything. There were days where I gotContinue reading “August Wrap 😬”
Another day another tag. I found this on THE BIBLIOPHILE GIRL.
I’m not sure who created this. I just googled searched some different book tags and found this one from Aria E. Maher.
I finally managed to get a place my dog and myself could go to for two nights. I’ve always wanted to go to some cabin/cottage that was secluded and just write. This wasn’t really secluded but it felt like it. It also didn’t have wifi or a tv.
I decided to do something different for July and create a theme to help me choose between my TBR books. I had heaps of fun doing it and choosing the books to read for each colour. I think I will choose another challenge for August I’m not sure what yet. But below are the booksContinue reading “The Rainbow Challenge/July Wrap up”
I’ve taken some time off work to focus on myself. A mental health holiday with the idea of writing and reading away.
It’s been a minute since my last post. Which isn’t something I plan it just happened. And it’s probably done me well. This month I decided to do CampWrimo and set my goal to 5K. The point for the 5k was to get the words I had lost and just have a chilled out monthContinue reading “Campwrimo July complete”
Spoilers a head
Below is all the books I read for the month of June.
I brought two books off unplugged. They have a mystery book option. I love unplugged box’s I think they have some of the best merch. So I thought why not just give it a try
It is meant to be a wet weekend so I thought what better way to spend it then to spend Friday night till Sunday reading and doing hour writing sprints throughout.
I’ve seen this tag everywhere I’m not sure who made it. Still I thought it would be a good way to wrap up the first half of the year. So far I’ve read 46/100 books. 100 is my end goal.
This month I read quite a few big books. And I also feel I enjoyed what I was reading. Unlike the other few months where at the wrap up I felt like I didn’t enjoy that much. Even though I really did. This month I don’t feel that way at all. I can’t wait toContinue reading “May wrap up”
Etsy has some awesome looking blind dates with a book. So I thought I’d try them out and see what I get.
Firstly this tag was created by Ellyn from Allonsythornraxx. I wanted to do a book tag post. I quite enjoy them. And this one hit what I want to do more of with this blog and that’s recommend some cool books I’ve enjoyed with all of you.
For those of you that have read any of Laura Thalassa books you might come across some other books that have similar feels as hers. And if you like any of these books below and have never read any of her books I highly recommend you do.
April was an interesting month. I read alot of books.
It’s that time again. Dewey 24 hour readathon is one of my favourite readathon’s. The interactions you have with others online and just reading as much as you can in those hours is surprisingly the most fun. This readathon happens three times a year with a reverse one that also happens in August usually.
I have seen this all over the place and thought why not throw my hat in the bag. Plus a blog I was going to do kinda just fell to pieces. So here we are with a book tag.
I have 3 books and another story that’s in verse to read. And seeing what month it is I figured why not read them now. So for the next 3 days I will be devouring some books.
Its officially national poetry month. And I thought the best way to celebrate is to share some of my favourites. One of the things that has surprised me over the past few years of reading is my love for poetry. Especially the dark and gloomy sort, that just speaks to the heart.
Now is the start of CampNano for the month of April. And I decided to use this time to get a start on my new books first Draft.
It’s been a minute since I posted anything. I ended up being a close contact and had to isolate for 7 days and I kinda just didn’t feel like doing anything. But new month and plenty to do. Like campnano and Dewey readathon so it should be a more productive month.
Below is a list of some books I’d recommend if you are looking for some strong female protagonist and side characters.
Wanting to continue with the women’s history month theme for March I thought what better way then a book tag. This book tag was created by Weirdzeal.
It is woman history month for March. So to celebrate I’m going to be posting a couple post promoting awesome females.
The long over due second challenge. I think doing tags is a great way to get to know someone. And what they enjoy or have on their shelves. So I enjoy watching people do these on booktube. I’ve seen this one a few years back I think it was created by Keeping Tabs and Current ChapterContinue reading “Do I Have That Other Book Challenge”
Down below are the best books I read in Feb.
Day 1 I went for a lovely beach walk before sitting down and diving into the first book. I unfortunately had to make the decision after months of trying to get into this book to just quit. The start was just to slow and I can’t sit through it. It just wasn’t what I thoughtContinue reading “7 Day NetGalley Readathon Wrap up”
I have a couple books to read and I seem to be falling behind (but keep requesting more) so I figured I’d spend a week focusing on nothing but my NetGalley TBR. I don’t know if I’ll get to them all or even finish them all. So here the possible TBR for the week
This Saturday was all about relaxing. Going out to the push and finishing a good book. So below is a review of the book before we disappear by Shaun David Hutchinson.
“Tea time is a chance to slow down, pull back and appreciate our surroundings” Letitia Baldrige
January has been an interesting reading month. I’ve successfully finished 9 books and DNF a heap…so many disappointing books.
When I decided to actually go through with writing my novel. I have been completely spammed with writing advice. And I’m going to be honest here.
Let’s start this with were I found it. Writer booktag. I’ve been struggling alot with motivation. Especially motivation to write. It’s not writer’s block. Because I’d love to actually write. It’s the desire to actually sit myself down and type away. So I’m trying out this whole thing about giving yourself motivation. One way isContinue reading “📝The Writer’s Book Tag”
I’ve taken myself away to get back to nature. One of my favourite things to do everytime I go away is to go exploring. And this time I ticked some things off my “bucket list”. If you go in the morning or in the arvo to Hamelin bay you will get a few sting raysContinue reading “Hamelin Bay and Augusta day tripping.”
I decided to take a good break between Christmas and New year’s. A break from social media and reading. It really helped recharge some dying batteries. But I’m back.
Here in Perth Australia it’s always a scorching summers day. Like this year is 42 c° which is going to stuck. Especially to someone like me that hates summer. Still Christmas must go on. And here’s some things I do each year.
Keeping with a festive season post. Here are some of my favourite Christmas movies.
As my reading year comes to an end here is how my Goodreads year went.
For the northern hemisphere it is Yule but here in the southern hemisphere it is Litha. It marks the longest day of the year, and is said to be a time of great joy and strength. It is a powerful time when both Mother Nature and the Sun are at their fullest. Litha symbols toContinue reading “Day 9- Litha (Summer Solstice)”
This year I gave the StoryGraph app a try out. And I have mixed feelings.
Today is clean up day (As I work all week) in time for Christmas. I have my Christmas playlist going in the back ground to get in the mood of Xmas too. So I thought I might share some of my favourites. Its such a boppy catching song I’ve played on repeat many times. ThisContinue reading “Day 7-Christmas songs”
I’ve been thinking alot about where I want this blog site to go. What I want to do reading wise next year. And just the idea of starting a new. It’s been a pretty depressing two years. With everything covid. And my mental health taking some hits. Deciding to start this blog. I just wantedContinue reading “Day 6- My 2022 Goals”
These won’t all be new releases. Just like a heads up. There are some books I’ve been meaning to get to for a while now. And I feel like next year is the time. So here’s to knocking down my TBR.
I found this tag on Jenniely blog. And this was created by booktuber GirlReading.
I have, officially, as of today read 109 books. I have two more to get through, but I highly doubt they’ll knock off one of these. This is a new record for me. Four years ago I could only ever reach an end goal of 60. Then last year I some how pulled out aContinue reading “Day 3- 12 favourite book I’ve read this year”
So at the end of last month I decided I wanted some natural Christmas decorations. So I went picking around my backyard and found some pretty cool things I thought could work.
First things first. This tag was created by Lizzie loves books. To start of the 12 days till Christmas blog posts that will be coming your way. I thought this would be the best thing to do. Plus I’ve been feeling pretty unmotivated on every front. Joys of the summer heat kicking in.
This was the September box if I remember correctly. I brought it to 1)try out the box 2) because I wanted the book I knew was inside. Unfortunately for me shipping parcels to Aus became non existent so it has taken a long time to get here.
This month I had every intention of doing Nano. I usually enjoy how competitive it makes me. It usually pushes me more. And I quite enjoy it. My whole goal was to write and have fun.
On Friday the 12 I drove three hours give or take to go visit one of my oldest friend. She is currently residing in Kojonup which I’ve never been to before.
I’m currently 8 days into the monthly writing challenge. And so far I have failed to finish the short story I started, but I’ve added stuff to my two WIP which is nice. Today however I actually thought of throwing in the towel. But I am not a quitter so I’ll slap myself out ofContinue reading “A NaNoWrimo update”
Every October Dewey I try to keep all my books in a spooky theme. From shifters, scary, dark, paranormal. It doesn’t have to be full blown horror to work. Opening Survey 1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today? Australia 🇦🇺2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forwardContinue reading “Dewey Readathon spooky special book wrap up”
It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t do a booktag that’s on point with October 🎃. So here is probably one of many this month….sorry? Haha.
My arc list is growing steadily. I’m currently sitting on 4 from NetGalley. Two aren’t due to read till next year. But why wait. let’s get shit done. So this week I’m focusing attention on 4 arcs and hopefully October is a much better reading month then September. Where I only managed to read threeContinue reading “Arc-A-Thon”
Seeing as it is October 🎃🎃🎃 I wanted to share some of my favourite horror movies to help get in the spooky mood. I am a massive horror movie fan. It’s quickly become my go to genre to watch. And here are ones I really enjoyed.
I am officially another year older, but not wiser. Here is a lovely booktag I’ve seen everywhere lately. 1 – BIRTHDAY CAKE – a book with a plot that seems cliche but you adore it anyway Guess I’ll go with the woke up as the chosen one plot. I’ve liked a couple books that haveContinue reading “🎂 The Birthday Book Tag 🎈”
Every so often there is a book/series I just can’t get into and I DNF it. But something makes me go back. Whether its a few months later or years. And I end up loving it. For example the six of crows and the raven cycle. I gave up on them both with in likeContinue reading “The DNF Do Over”
Here we are with another book tag. I found this one from this blogsite Forbookssake . The creator Onespeculiar 1 – The Lost Princess – A book/series you lost interest in halfway through. Literally 5 minutes ago more or less. Paige was so annoying. It just wasn’t a good read. 2 – The Knight inContinue reading “The Fantasy Tropes Book Tag”

Another month down. Another pile of books read. I have read 8 books and finished three Readathons. Here are the best books I’ve read in the month of August.
A beautiful gothic fantasy that screams beauty and the Beast retelling. Which isn’t a bad thing.
http://aminoapps.com/p/0421xc. I found this on the link above. I’m currently avoiding life problems. I’m doing it the right way yes? 1. Which book do you think deserves an adaption? I’m mean there are a few. But, I feel like this series would be alot of fun to watch as a tv show. And its lightContinue reading “Bookish Questions”

Another day, another Tag. I don’t usually post this much close together. But, I’m currently away from my day to day life. House sitting and treating it like a great holiday to edit my book. Get as much as I can done. Right now I’m just a tad bored and restless. So here is aContinue reading “Book vs Book”

1st to 15th of August I finished the first prompt on the first day. A Book with green on the cover. It was a fun quick read. (I say even though I spent all day reading it). I have to admit to I completely forgot what the Queer Principles of Kit Webb was even about.Continue reading “The Merlin Readathon wrap up”
8am Saturday to 8am Sunday Today I started Dewey at 9:45 am. The whole goal and plan today is to take this readathon easy, mix self-care and reading.
