The Royal Readathon:Epic eras wrap up

I decided on the 1st of may to join this readathon. And I can happily say I finished it. I managed to only need to read 4 books for this. Here’s what I read.

Here’s the royal Readathon twitter link Royalreadathon

The sword and the stone: a book about learning & Mulan: a character is forced to do something they don’t want to do.

This is an arc from Netgalley. Where we follow Lucas. A war vet who loved his best friend and has been mourning his death for years. His friends want him to move on. But he can’t let go of the guilt he feels over Jamie’s death. It’s a very sad story. And has a lot of trigger warnings for things like child abuse. Lucas had a very hard life.

Peter Pan: an adventure, Hercules: strength, Lilo and stitch: found family, Tangled: sun on the cover & Encanto: a small community.

The ending of a long series and it’s been a long wait (2017 was the last book) for this book. I was way better than the book before this. Which means it’s probably a blessing it took so long for it to come out. But damn did this book kicked our asses. A great yet painful wrap up to a long series.

Pinocchio: horror or Thriller &Snow white: family dispute.

I’ve never read from this author before. But I have a thing for the Jekyll and Hyde story. I didn’t like the classic story. I wanted more from it. So I’ll jump and all retellings because I am very intrigued by the whole story. This was such a great read. I really enjoyed the plot. And the characters were likeable. I liked that the romance wasn’t too over done. It felt real. I’m so glad I took a chance on this and look forward to seeing what else she has written.

Oliver: a city, Aristocats: animal on the cover, Atlantis: underrated book, Raya : transformation & Moana: Shiney cover.

Rereading a favourite. This is my favourite Ariana Nash book. And a second time round read that hasn’t changed. I adore Akiem and love that Zane understands that Akiem has a lot of trauma he’s dealing with. They are one of my favourite couples in a book and Akiem is one of my favourite characters of all time. I love this book so much and I finished it while camping a few days ago.
