This month I read quite a few big books. And I also feel I enjoyed what I was reading. Unlike the other few months where at the wrap up I felt like I didn’t enjoy that much. Even though I really did. This month I don’t feel that way at all. I can’t wait to tackle my June TBR.
Physical books: 4
Ebooks: 3
Audiobooks: 1
Arc’s: 0
Overall: 6
Usually I’ll only mention the books I enjoyed this month but because I enjoyed five of the six I thought it would just be easier to talk about them all this month. So here are all six books I read for the month of May.
Jar book of the month

This month I pulled out book 3 of this series. And this one was just as good as the first two. It is also way darker, with cannibalism which I wasn’t expecting. It’s crazy how much these two can go through in one book and not feel over done.ย In this book Ben and Nik go to Russia, their plan goes down and ends up stranded in the middle of nowhere in Siberia with the rest of the passengers. But that’s not the only people out there. There are cannibals who want the young girl. Some of the deaths in this are horrific. I still enjoyed the book though. I enjoyed this so much I decided to pick book 4 up right after.
๐๐๐๐.5 /5

This book so far has been the weakest of the series. It follows a poorly designed plot. Ben and Nik go to a therapy camp thing for gay men. That’s really some bad cult. And when you don’t think it could get any worse Ben loses his memory and forgets all about Nik. It was the most annoying read. I just wanted it to end. Still I finished it and they do fix themselves. The one thing that kept me reading was seeing how they have grown as a couple and how comfortable they are with each other.

The book of the month

I’m so glad I decided to read this. It was the first book of the month that I read for Dewey. And it is fast becoming one of my top favourite series. Both books have been fantastic reads. I don’t know why it took me so long to pick it up. I’m still buzzing over some of the twists this story made. I am dying to get my hands on the last book. Also I was switching between reading and listening to the audio of this book and I highly recommend getting the audiobook it was so fucking good. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t like many audiobooks.

I am also rereading some of my favourite books and for this month I read the first two books for ‘All for the game’ by Nora Sakavic.

Rereading these books has been a blast. When I first read this series it became my favourite book series. For so long it was The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. But this one swooped in and stole my heart. I love how layered it is. How much drama is in it. The fact that everyone of the characters in this book holds their own. They are all reliable misfits. This book isn’t just about a sports team. It’s about a found family. And how different people deal with trauma. It’s a beautiful book really. On a side note this fan art covers are awesome.
The last book I’m going to mention is this beautiful book of short stories.

I picked this up this month at the local book store because of the cover. And I enjoyed quite a few of the dark fairytales in it. Don’t get me wrong some of them just didn’t work for me but for the most part I was happy I picked it up. And I am in love with this cover.
Can’t wait to see what June brings.
What books are you looking forward to reading next month? And readathon’s?
