Firstly this tag was created by Ellyn from Allonsythornraxx.
I wanted to do a book tag post. I quite enjoy them. And this one hit what I want to do more of with this blog and that’s recommend some cool books I’ve enjoyed with all of you.
1 Recommend a book from one of your favourite genres
It’s hard for my because I’m not 100% sure what my favourite genre is. Maybe paranormal romances? Or fantasy, or hell dark fantasy. I’m just over thinking the genre it’s insane. Neither the less I will recommend a paranormal romance as I think might be my current go to genre.

This is one of the series that made me fall down the rabbit hole of paranormal romances I enjoy and it is kind of a dark fantasy. Plus enemies to lovers and that’s just all my favourite things in one. Plus I’m fascinated with folklore/ myth and legends. So when there is a “retelling” of sorts I have to read it. And these where a massive win.
2 Recommend a short book
This series is a M/M romance. With magic and drama. That’s set in Victorian era. It’s kinda gothic fantasy in a way. I feel like I’m ruining this recommendation. This was the second series I read by KJ Charles and it’s one of the best. It follows a rich guy named lord crane and a Magician named Stephen. And Stephen goes to crane to help with some supernatural problems. They obviously catch feelings for each other and shit goes down along the way. They are quick short reads but give you so much along the way.

3 Recommend a book-to-screen adaptation

This was my favourite story as a kid and I really enjoyed this movie I think they did a really good job.
4 Recommend a book out of your comfort zone

Crime novels are my enemy. However, every so often I come across some gems. So for this I’ll recommend the Hannibal lector series by Thomas Harris. And I will also admit that the red dragon book was my favourite. But I also read this series after watching the Hannibal tv series so I just feel in love with Will.
5 Recommend a book series

I’ve recommended a few already. But let’s throw another one out there. The Green creek series got me into TJ Klunes books. Each book follows another member of the wolf pack while also pushing the story forward. My favourite book of the series is Ravensong and Brothersong. The pack is full of loveable characters and we’ll written. I don’t know how to sell reading this. But it’s a fun read.
6 Recommend a standalone
For this I’m going with a Poetry read.

7 Recommend a book you don’t talk about enough

This is a very sad book about Jim’s wife who died of cancer. Inside is emails he sent to everyone to keep them up to date on what was going on and it’s just such a sad read. Jim beaver is a beautiful man and I got meet him a couple years ago he was so kind.
8 Recommend your ‘staple’ book
I would say it’s more of like the type of book and not just genre more I guess trope. I like sad endings, or just sad books, enemies to lovers, fast paced reads. And morally grey characters. That’s what I’ll pick up no matter the mood. And when I’m in a reading slump I’ll chase.
9 Recommend the book/s that got you into reading
So I’d say the BFG and anything by Paul Jennings. But I had a run in with a shit English teacher that when I was 13 made me feel like shit for reading middle grade still so I stopped reading. So the other book that got me back into reading was two ish years later and that was Twilight. I was addicted to that series. I don’t know if I’ll ever go back and read it. But it holds great memories. That series lead me to pick up the mortal instruments by Cassandra Clare and it was down hill from there.
